Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (NYC)–  The Mark and Estel show at Lincoln Center in New York City, on Friday, September 5th 2014 was just what everyone expected—fun and fashionably chic!

The crowd poured in by the hundreds with attendees well-endowed in fashion with titles like fashion editors, journalists, bloggers, stylists and fashion professionals.  All those in attendance were ready to see the much anticipated show of Mark and Estel’s Spring/Summer 2015 line.

The energy of the show created lots of buzz with fashion enthusiasts sitting with anticipation waiting for the show to begin.  As we waited for the fashionably late show to begin, we at Pearl’s Only, had the moment to take a look back into Mark and Estel’s claim of fame. Pearls and Lady Gaga seem to go hand-and-hand these days. We have seen Lady Gaga is pearls several times.

As you may all know, Lady GaGa has always been known for her unique and controversial costumes and clothing. Some we like and some leave us with in question, but for this look above—it works for us! The pearl and rhinestone mask has a little sexiness and mystery with a touch of glam that just can’t be ignored.

CELEBRITY IN PEARLS: Pearl Negras “Think Of You” is Bound to Make the Summer Hot!

The summer is sure to sizzle with the new rap group from Brazil, Pearls Negras, which is a teenage rap trio from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We checked them out and they are awesome.

The group of girls that slightly remind us of Destiny’s Child, is made up of 15- and 16-year-olds Alice Coelho, Jeni Loyola, and Mariana Alves, who met in an after-school theater company called Nós do Morro in the Vidigal favela in Rio where they grew up.

Their song “Pensando em Você” (“Thinking of You” in English) has a very catchy beat that makes you nod your head and shake your hips like no one is watching. The trap-influenced, hip-hop sound is truly contagious and their rapping/singing style is as cute as they are. read more
