PEARL FASHION: Fancy Pearl Clutches

As you plan for your wedding, you will need something that will hold your necessities; nothing too big, but something that can carry your gifts of cash, gift cards, hotel key, unmentionables and makeup. Think about purchasing a clutch handbag that will complement your beautiful dress.

We always recommend having an elegant pearl clutch. There are many styles and colors of clutch bags with pearls so you may be overwhelmed, so here are a few things that you want to consider:

=&0=& A stylish pearl clutch can range in prices of $50- $3,000. It all depends on your budget so choose the one that best fits your price range.

=&1=& Pearl clutches can come in so many different sizes, colors and shapes. Look for the ones that best suits your style or the ones that you think fit your personality.

If you plan to have your wedding party also carrying clutches, it is recommended that you get them matching bags and you get one that is a little different. This will ensure that yours never gets mistaken for theirs.

=&2=& If you are the kind of girl that likes to dance and mingle then you will want a bag that has a shoulder strap. There are some clutches that come with a chain for the convenience of wearing around your shoulder so that you can dance the night away.

There is much convenience to carrying a clutch on your wedding day, so plan it into your budget. But if you feel like you really won’t have a need for one, plan to purchase more expensive shoes.

Happy planning!

Pearl Fashion: Black Tie on the Fly

If you heard it said once, you will hear it a million times…when in doubt, look to your little black dress. Going to a cocktail dinner? Look to the black dress. May be attending a black tie affair? Then the little black dress is necessary. Meeting friends at the club? Yeah, the little black dress works well there too.

Thanks to many of our favorite designers, you can find a cute black dress almost everywhere and in every shape, textures, and with small accents of color and embellishments. There is no excuse to not have a little black dress.

Won’t everyone be wearing a black dress? Well, yes the chances are likely that you and a few other people will be wearing the fashion staple, but that does not mean that you won’t stand out in the sea of black. How you ask? Easily with the accessories that you choose, your choice of makeup colors, and how you wear your hair. Here are a few quick fixes that come to mind that will make you OWN the night.

Hair- Neatly pulled back into a chignon; a well-kept bun on the top of your head or a very slick and neat sexy ponytail.

Makeup- Gold, Copper, or Bronze are colors that look great with black and can blend to look natural. These colors look great on almost every skin tone. Choose subtle but classy lashes nothing over the top.

A red lip or natural pink color will be amazing. Please, not the cotton candy colored lip that was favored by Nicki Minaj. Even she has retired that color. Look for a soft natural tone.

Accessories- When it comes to the shoes, they have to make people go “wow”! The shoes choice is what will separate you from the other black foxes. Think about colors that are not too bold but pack a lot of style and shapes that are not outrageous; just sexy and demanding of one’s attention. The clutch is another opportunity to steal a person’s eye. Make it unique and panache.

The jewelry also has to be the of center attention.  According to Askmen.com, “Flirtatious women also tend to fidget more. For example, they might fiddle with their jewelry, twisting rings and tugging at (pearl) necklaces. This is due to nervous excitement; because their hearts are beating a little faster than usual, they need some sort of outlet for their tension when being flirtatious.” So your jewels have to be gorgeous and sophisticated. Consider wearing pearls in a double or triple strand.

So go and enjoy yourself in your little black dress and take plenty of selfies to remember just how great you looked. And for those of you who have not yet brought a closet’s favorite, what are you waiting on??? Get your little black dress, now!

ASK MS. ELITOU: How do you wear pearls at the office?

Pearls are actually really easy and fun to wear at the office! You can pair them with your blazers, button-downs, suits, sweaters and all of your business attire. It is amazing that there are so many choices of pearls …when looking for pearl bracelet, rings, pearl necklaces and pearl earrings. You have the option of different colors, designs, and pearl sizes. When looking for pearls for the workplace, look for simplistic and chic looks so that you will not be a distraction.

Keep these simple notes in mind:

  1. Your pearl strands should not fall past your bust line.
  2. You should never wear more than one pearl accessory at a time to refrain from looking unprofessional.
  3. Your pearls should not overpower your work attire which can make it hard for your fellow workers to concentrate.

PEARLS ON THE RUNWAY: Pearl Chanel Clutch on the Spring 2014 Runway!

No one ever said that pearls have to dangle from only your neck and ears! The iconic designer house that has been known for its relationship with pearls has made it a point to feature the precious stones not just as jewelry but as an accessory. For the Spring of 2014, the beautifully embellished pearl box clutch will make its appearance on the runway. Totally Chic!

It takes a real designer to come up with such a sophisticated and unique clutch. The bag is covered in beautiful white pearls, bordered with daring black legos, and topping it all off with a long pearl strap. I clutch my pearls as I write… too fabulous!

This bag is very reminiscent of the classiness that the great Coco Chanel has given us in the many years of her genius. When you think of Hollywood glamour and style, then you must think of dear Coco.

How do you wear this bag?

Definitely you can wear it with a little black dress or how about a great pencil skirt in red with a white satin blouse. When you are out on the town just be ready for the camera’s flashes.

What do you think of the style? Would you carry?
