PEARL CELEBRATION: A Conversation with Andre Freeland- Pearl Mantra

It is always interesting to know what men think about women’s fashion. From what they wear to how they wear it, men can actually be helpful to developing a woman’s style. So we were completely in awe to know that men have many views on women in pearls. Their view point goes from seeing a lady of class and sophistication to being super-HOT and very SEXY! That’s right, men find women sexy and seductive in pearls.

We had the amazing opportunity to speak with fashion stylist, Andre Freeland about men and their conception of women, sexiness and pearls.

Andre has been creating fashion styles through vision and a creative eye that can spot a trend from the beginning of its creation. Professionally trained at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, Andre` is no stranger to the constant change of fashion. As we know, change is inevitable in fashion.

In 2003, Andre turned his passion for helping people take their everyday look to the next level by creating the Andre’ Freeland Imagery and Consulting Firm to help men and women organize their closets and get the best out of their wardrobe, creating their signature style.

Since Andre is an expert on all things fashion, we had to know if there was a mantra that he would share with our lovely pearls readers to inspire them to continue to wear pearls, and this is what he had to say:

“A woman in pearls speaks volumes… it says that she knows her wealth and class with just a simple strand.”

This week we, at Pearls Only, are celebrating the beauty of pearls. I know, we celebrate pearls everyday but this week we will be celebrating with a fashion stylist that knows the importance of wearing pearls and why they are associated with class, elegance, professionalism and great stature.

Tish Thomas, a fashion stylist that has worked with major campaigns that include, Target, Nordstrom’s, Old Navy and Kenneth Cole, just to name a few, enlightens us on when pearls are not fashionable.

This week we, at Pearls Only, are celebrating the beauty of pearls. I know, we celebrate pearls everyday but this week we will be celebrating with a fashion stylist that knows the importance of wearing pearls and why they are associated with class, elegance, professionalism and great stature.

Tish Thomas, a fashion stylist that has worked with major campaigns that include, =&0=&and=&1=&Today, she shares a few fashion tips on how to wear pearls:

“Women can wear pearls with a fitted graphic tee, blazer, rolled up boyfriend jeans, sassy pumps, wild with a bold clutch and a few string of pearls,” says Tish. “For an added touch to the pearls, add a small lace or netted bow to the corner of the pearls to give them a touch of oomph!”

“Wear a nice pencil skirt belted at the waist; a crisp white, button down blouse with a popped collar; pearls on the neck and ear; a sharp and bold colored beret, a chic midsize bag, and high sexy heels!”

PEARL FASHION: Chanel’s S/S RTW 2014 Ad Campaign

Chanel is an iconic brand that has always been known for their signature pumps, fashionable tweeds, and their absolutely gorgeous variety of pearls. We at =&0=& love Chanel’s designs and we were more than excited how they showed off their well-known signatures in a new and fresh way– especially the pearls!

Chanel just released their new Spring/Summer Ready to Wear Ad Campaign for 2014 and we are happy to say that Chanel and their Creative Director, Karl Lagerfeld did not disappoint.

The campaign features, bright and inviting colors, youthful cuts, fringed tweed shorts, loose tweed skirts, tailored coats, crop tops, and amazing pearls of all varieties and designs including a daring metallic future-inspired pearl cuff necklace with multiple large pearls and also a three strand pearl necklace with a large statement pearls in the front and back of the piece.

The collection is quite chic and artistic which Lagerfeld attributes to his interest in both art and fashion. In an interview on Chanel’s online news steam he stated, “Andy Warhol really got the right idea that those things [fashion and art] can very well live together.”

He then went on during the interview on to say, “[His] idea was to make a collection that could be right for a woman to go to an opening of different artists.”

We completely agree! Nothing is more beautiful than the perfect combination of art and fashion.

The ad features a simple photo-shoot location and complimenting mirrors which makes the clothing the focal point of attention.

All together, we think that the images for the campaign, taken by Lagerfeld, look great and the models, Lindsey Wixson and Sasha Luss are an appropriate look for the ad.

PEARL FASHION: Dom Streater creates a collection that looks lovely with pearls!

We are obsessed with the new fashion line from Dom Streater. Known for her amazing talent as a designer and the winner of =&0=& she made her New York Fashion Week debut in February with her new =&1=& collection, and fashion fanatics approved of the amazing prints and 1950-60’s inspired designs that were simple and elegant.

Being just 25-years-old, the Philly native gave us ladylike conceptions that are appealing to young and fashionable women. The prints and colors were definitely en vogue. Imagine being the top notch beauty at an afternoon tea. Yea, the clothing has that kind of feel… pure elegance.  Pink is definitely the color of the year amongst the young, hip and chic. Black, white and gray combinations and separates where trending at almost every show during New York Fashion Week.

What we love most about these designs is that they can easily be accompanied with pearls!
